company principal and with his wife Bridget owners of
Browns Boutique Hotel. With many years of experience on Lake
Wakatipu Nigel is only too happy to organise your cruise to suit your time

Powered by two Ford 120 horsepower diesels Luanda cruises at 7 to 8 knots. She has three cabins and a head on the lower deck, a galley and dining area on the middle deck and wheelhouse and saloon on the upper deck plus a spacious area on the bridge. With ample seating in both saloon areas and excellent visibility from all main areas on the boat makes trips both relaxing and interesting
Since
her launching Luanda has extensively cruised around New Zealand and the
south Pacific. A major upgrade was undertaken in the early 70’s with the
addition of the bridge. A further internal upgrade and refurbish was carried
out in 2000. The second largest
of the southern glacial lakes, Lake Wakatipu is 53 miles long and up
to 3 miles wide, and covers an area of 113 sq. miles. The lake is
1,017 ft above sea level and at 1,239 ft deep, is 222 ft below sea
