Cruise Lake Wakatipu on MV Luanda a classic 58ft Kauri launch built in the 1960’s. Able to accommodate 20 passengers on day trips and up to six overnight including two couples the Luanda is an ideal size for private charters.

Once at anchor we can take you ashore in the dinghy to explore, a walk in native forest, stop at lake lodge for dinner, take a jet boat ride up a wilderness river or just sit back and admire the spectacular alpine scenery with a glass of wine.

Powered by two Ford 120 horsepower diesels Luanda cruises at 7 to 8 knots. She has three cabins and a head on the lower deck, a galley and dining area on the middle deck and wheelhouse and saloon on the upper deck plus a spacious area on the bridge. With ample seating in both saloon areas and excellent visibility from all main areas on the boat makes trips both relaxing and interesting

Since her launching Luanda has extensively cruised around New Zealand and the south Pacific. A major upgrade was undertaken in the early 70’s with the addition of the bridge. A further internal upgrade and refurbish was carried out in 2000. Since purchasing Luanda in 2004 we have upgraded mainly mechanical systems and equipment to work under the Maritime Safety Authorities Safe Ship Management.
